Anne Oakes Jones Anne Oakes Jones BSc is an expert on the local landscape of the South West Shropshire Hills which she has researched for over thirty years.  Anne is an experienced teacher who has used this area to guide groups of all ages. She gives talks regularly on particular specialist aspects of the area to both local groups in Shropshire and people from other areas of UK. She is informative about the wildlife, geology, history, legends and literature associated with the landscape.
Anne Oakes Jones has lived in Shropshire for over thirty years. Her first experience of tour guiding, whilst a student in London, was escorting foreign student groups during their short stay in the capital. Her business at Thresholds Centre involves informing and escorting groups of all ages about the local area.
During the last twenty years Anne has been a tour guide on coach trips in North Wales in addition to Shropshire. She wrote the commentary for the tape recording interpreting the landscape for passengers on the route of The Stiperstones Shuttle Bus.
Anne now organises events at Thresholds Centre situated on a northern outlier of The Long Mynd in Shropshire overlooking the East Onny valley.

The programme of events at Thresholds Centre includes guided walks and tours of the area. She has produced several themed guided walk leaflets tailored to customers’ specific interests.
In addition to being a Welcome Host trainer she has also gained both Welcome All & Welcome Management certificates.
