Shrewsbury

Set amidst the glorious Shropshire countryside near to the Welsh Borders, Shrewsbury is one of England's finest medieval market towns. The birthpalce of Charles Darwin, the town has over 600 listed buildings including the world-famous Shrewsbury Abbey, home of the fictional Brother Cafael.

Bridgnorth

Set high on a sandstone cliff and divided by Britain’s longest river, Bridgnorth is one of the most spectacular inland town settings in England. There are caves, a castle, a cliff railway, a steam railway a civil war and catastrophes that all had a bearing on the beautiful town you see today.

Ludlow

Ludlow is arguably one of the finest historic towns in England with a wealth of beautiful period buildings. Centrepiece to the town is the dramatic medieval Ludlow Castle, home to the world renown arts festival held in the town each summer. Much Wenlock

This tiny, quintessentially English town had much to offer the visitor. As the birthpace of William Penny Brookes who inspired the modern Olympic Games, you will find a host of Olympian connections and memorabila throughout the town. Amidst the wealth of timber-framed black & white buildings stands the dramatic ruins of Wenlock Priory dating from around AD 680.

Ironbridge

One of Shropshire's top attractions, the Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. But please do not be deceived by our heritage. Nowadays the area is far from industrial. Although the revolution started here, most of the factories are long gone and the natural beauty of the Gorge has been restored. Visit the superb Victorian themed museums operated by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust and explore the maze of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes.
