About The Guild

The Guild of Shropshire Tour Guides is a registered company which was set up three years ago to promote Shropshire and specifically tour guiding in Shropshire and the borders. The company has developed from humble beginnings to now attracting numerous enquiries from the UK and overseas, which has produced a great variety of tours in the county.

The Guild can organise traditional town tours such as Shrewsbury and the market towns. However we pride ourselves on being able to cater for the personal needs of our clients, and we will always try and provide any tours that are requested however complicated and off-the-wall.

Did you know that Shropshire spans all the major geological ages to the present day? This is very rare for a county, and we can take interested parties to specific examples. The Guild can provide Castle tours, Ghost tours, Literature tours, Genealogy tours, Media tours, Eco tours, Gastronomic Food tours, Walking tours, Ancient Monument tours, Cycling tours and Activity tours such as canoeing. In fact the possibilities are endless and we are always open to new suggestions.

Each tour is planned in detail and risked assessed, and to date all our customers are very satisfied with our personal and attentive service and generally book again for the following year. The Guild will also advise and cater for groups with special needs and we can guide in French, German, Dutch and Italian.

The Guild is always interested in hearing from established guides or from people who have an in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm for the history and culture of Shropshire and feel that they can communicate this to visitors and groups. Each guide working for The Guild can be reassured that they are fully covered by The Guild’s insurance policy so there is no need for guides to take out expensive separate insurance cover whilst working for The Guild.
